William R. Warfield
CAMBRIDGE - William R. Warfield, 83 of The Neck District, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge.
Born on June 26, 1924 in Thomas, The Neck District, he was the son of the late Russell E. Warfield and Laura E. Tyler.
Mr. Warfield was one of the original founding members of the Neck District Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Warfield was retired from Cambridge Wire Cloth and prior to that had been a waterman.
He was a member of Spedden United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 12, 1992, he married the former Rosemary Arman Schmidt.
Surviving besides his wife of 14 years, Rosemary A. Warfield of Cambridge, is a brother, James R. Warfield of Cambridge; three nieces, Catherine Crawford, Jamie Warfield, both of Cambridge, Patricia Joiner of Chestertown; two nephews, Edwin Joiner of Ocean Pines, and William Joiner of Centreville; two nephews-in-law, Len Crawford and Robert C. Howard; a great-niece, Brittany Crawford; three great-nephews, Brandon Crawford, Justin R. and Bryant J. Howard, all of Cambridge; two stepdaughters, Kathryn Anne Izzo of Baltimore, and Mary Lynn Izzo of Connecticut.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three sisters, Doris W. Joiner, Dolly W. McGinn and C. Lorraine McGlaughlin; a sister-in-law, Ruth Warfield; a niece, Laura B. Howard; and a great-nephew, Matthew G. Howard.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. David L. Kreek. Burial will follow at Spedden-Seward Cemetery, Hills Point, Cambridge.
The Neck District Volunteer Fire Department will provide their Honor Guard during the visitation and funeral with escort to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edwin Joiner, Billy Joiner, Len Crawford, Brandon Crawford, Robert Howard, Justin Howard and Bryant Howard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Mr. Warfield"s memory to The Neck District Volunteer Fire Department, 954 Cooks Point Road, Cambridge, MD or to the Spedden United Methodist Church, c/o Carolyn Wright, 507 Gay St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
