CAMBRIDGE — The Wednesday Morning Artists group in Cambridge celebrated the opening of their holiday show at the Dorchester Center for the Arts on Sunday afternoon. The show and sale is entitled the Wednesday Morning Artists Gallery of Gifts, and it is just in time for holiday gift buying.

The show features works by local artists. There are toys, silk accessories, photographs, mixed media art and drawings, oil and watercolor paintings, ceramics, glass art, pillows, purses, basketry, jewelry, finger puppets, greeting cards and more. The pieces are designed for a wide range of display — on walls, on tables or shelves, some for wearing, some just for entertainment.

The artists involved include Heidi Wetzel, Ann Murdoch Geiger, Eileen Hebert, Michael McIntyre, Terry White, Carol Feierabend, Paul Winters, Sharon Stockley, Joyce Fritz Ritz, Maryette Dynan, John Dynan, Lisa Krentel, Anne Allbeury Hock, Deborah Coffin Kennedy, Jack Geiger, Jeanne Ewell, Joan Feierabend, Lois McKenzie, Marilyn Stone, Robert Manning, Cal Jackson, Fran Saunders, Janet Kerr, Jill Jasuta, John Kendz, Pam Decraecke, Ted Mueller, Wendy Rue, Damaris Bourland, Willa Klingensmith, Katherine Johnson, Maura Manley and Pat Lowe.

Prices for the individual pieces are from $10 and up many items in the $25 to $35 range, and shoppers can take items with them at the time of purchase. A percentage of each purchase benefits the Dorchecter Center for the Arts.

The show runs until Jan. 2 although the arts center is closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 1. The Arts Center is open Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For the holiday season, it also will be open Sundays on Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20 from 1 to 5 p.m.
