EDEN - Walter Lewis Prettyman passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, peacefully at his home in Eden surrounded by his family. Born on May 13, 1939 in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Norman and Irene Bowden Prettyman.
Walter graduated from Wicomico High School. Upon his graduation, he entered the United States Army, where he earned an honorable discharge. Walter was an avid truck driver for over 60 years. He was a life- long member of the Fruitland Vol. Fire Department for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Wicomico Co. Fire Police.
Walter is survived by two daughters, Joanna Prettyman and her husband Rich Lewis of West Point, Utah and Lisa Wampler and her husband Dennis of Eden; one granddaughter, Tarin Bailey and her husband Joseph of Fruitland; as well as one great-granddaughter, Edyn Bailey, of Fruitland.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda E. Prettyman; two brothers, Richard Parsons and William Prettyman; and one sister, Jesse Donavan.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Fruitland Vol. Fire Department in Fruitland. A reception followed.
