SALISBURY - Walter James Dale Jr.,68, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. The first-born of Bertie Nellie Dale Hopkins and Walter James Dale Sr., he was known to many as "June" or "Walt." In 1968, he married Mildred Rebecca Marshall Dale and was blessed with two children, Valiere Rebecca Dale and Michael Anthony Dale. He had the gift of drawing, a skill that he later parlayed into painting and pottery. He began working on cars at an early age and was in the auto body business for more than 40 years. In addition to his wife, Mildred, and son, Michael, he is survived by four brothers, Milton Dale, Melvin Dale, Marvin Dale and Keith Dale; three sisters, Dorothy Smith, Lillian Anderson and Betty Dale; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Valiere; mother, Bertie; father, Walter; and one brother. A funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at United Faith Church of Deliverance in Salisbury. Arrangements are in care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
