SECRETARY - Wallace S. "Pete" Mooney, 81, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury.

He was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Secretary, son of the late William R. Mooney Sr. and Gladys Saunders Mooney.

Mr. Mooney served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. For many years he worked for Hurlock Sportswear as a cutter and supervisor, retiring in 1986.

He enjoyed refinishing furniture, carving decoys and fishing.

Mr. Mooney was a member of the Hurlock American Legion Post 243 and First United Methodist Church in Secretary.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Isabelle Wheatley Mooney of Secretary; a daughter, Linda Scott and her husband, James of Hurlock; one grandson, Greg Scott and his wife, Lynn of Cambridge; one granddaughter, Jennifer Dyott and her husband, Wayne of Easton; one great-grandson, Caleb Scott of Cambridge; two stepgrandchildren, Meghan and Logan Rippons of Cambridge; a sister, Ellen Rickwood and her husband, Johnny of East New Market; nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elva Page and Rebecca Blake; two brothers, William Mooney Jr. and Sidney Mooney.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 to 1 p.m., at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market. Services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Helen Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery in Beulah.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Rickwood, Howard Blake, Norman Warrell, Logan Rippons, Chuck Wheatley and Willard Massey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Dukes, Kendall Mooney and Bobby Todd.
