CAMBRIDGE - Virginia Irene Wheatley died April 13, 2022 at Signature Health at Mallard Bay in Cambridge. Born November 7, 1931 in Snow Hill, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Byrd Butler and Martha Emily Ruark Butler.
She is survived by three children; Becky Northrup Weltzin (Scott) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Gail Northrup Collins (Mike) of Cambridge and Gregory Northrup of Easton and four stepchildren; seven grandchildren; Jodi Windsor Kindt of Cambridge, Luis Font (Liz) of Stafford, Virginia, 1st Class Sgt. Ian Northup of Kailua, Hawaii, Megan Daniels (Ryan) of Secretary, Erin Northrup of Tennessee, Cpl. Katie Weltzin of Great Lakes, Illinois, and Alex Northrup of Maryland; seven step-grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; Corey Ramey, Olivia Gisriel (Brandon), Molly Gisriel, Brooks Daniels and Annie Daniels; seven step greatgrandchildren.
In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Malcolm Northrup and her second husband, Wendell Wheatley; three sisters, a son, a stepdaughter and a step-grandson.
Funeral services were private. Arrangements are in the care of Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
