CAMBRIDGE — The Vikings brought their record to 4-1 following Friday’s victory over the visiting Nandua Warriors, who were in town for C-SD’s Homecoming Game. Though the contest ended with a clear Viking advantage — 49-18 — it was the visitors who made the first trip into the end zone.

That came at 7:41 in the opening quarter, when the Warriors’ ball carrier rolled over a tackler, somehow kept himself from touching the ground, popped up and kept running for the score.

But then C-SD’s defense took over, with an interception. The Vikes scored on the following possession, and went up 7-0 after James Frazier’s extra point.

It was all C-SD after that. While the Vikings offense was dominant, with 375 yards on the day, the defense made a contribution to the scoreboard as well.

Halfway through the second quarter, defensive lineman Avery Nichols scooped up a Warriors’ fumble, and ran 25 yards to add another score to the tally.

The Vikings’ top offensive contributor was Camren Lake, with 151 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. Beasley was only a step behind, with 150, and two touchdowns. Also scoring for C-SD were Kanye Pinder with one TD, Malik Ennals with two, and kicker Frazier with seven points.

Quarterback John Henry was 4 for 8 for a total of 45 yards through the air, with two interceptions.

C-SD’s leading tacklers were Dillon Meekins, 7; Noah Presley, 6; Khalik Beasley, KJ Dockins, Tayon Fletcher and Camren Lake, each with 3. Malik Ennals had two interceptions, Cam Lake grabbed one, and Beasley recovered a fumble.

The Vikings’ next game will be at Washington High School in Princess Anne on Friday. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

Washington is 0-4, and lost to Nandua on Sept. 6, 41-6.
