Verna Mae Simonenko

CRISFIELD - Verna Mae Simonenko, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 at McCready Memorial Hospital. Born in Crisfield July 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Melton and Annabell Townsend Joyner. A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1969, she was head custodian for Broward County School System in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., working 20 years until her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert L. Simonenko, of Crisfield; two children, Angela Stuebe and husband, Tony, and David Simonenko, all of Crisfield; four grandchildren, Angelic Simonenko, of Miami, Fla., and Justin Conner, Andrew Paul Conner and Nathan Stuebe, all of Crisfield; one great-granddaughter, Anaisa Gonzales; three brothers, Melton Joyner, Jr., Jordan "Bo" Joyner, and Rommel Joyner and wife, Linda, all of Crisfield; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Nick and Joanne Simonenko of Plantation, Fla., and Lydia and Jack Kirstatter of Plant City, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services officiated by the Rev. LeBron Palmer were Thursday, p.m. Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home, where a viewing was one hour prior. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
