TAXES . . .

Perhaps now is the time to vote the progrssive liberal and entrenched state legislature out - they are responsible for the hostile tax situation in this state. If state taxes were reasonable and the budget under control, then you wouldn’t need to deduct state income taxes. Target your frustration on the real culprits responsible for jacking up taxes in MD...the democrats controlling the state legislature.

Anyone can read the proposal and see that the “cuts” for the middle class quickly expire, while the cuts for the ultra-rich become permanent.

This proposal does NOT give tax cuts to many people who need them and DOES give reductions to many rich people. And it greatly increases the federal debt.

This tax plan cuts the adoption tax credit. From a moral sense this is absurd and from an economic sense it will cost the government far more to support kids in foster care than support parents trying to adopt. Insane either way you look at it.

Tax proposal is pure FRAUD. Make sure somebody asks you to justify repeal of estate tax for only the top .5 percent of Americans.

We should all be taxed the same. And after we pay taxes we shouldn’t be paying them again. A repeal of death taxes is a great idea and one I fully support even if this this bill sucks overall.

The typical family of 4 according to Paul Ryan will save $1182. in taxes. This is because they don’t need to itemize and will have large standard deductions, enhanced child tax credits, and a new family credit. However, Maryland has the highest percentage of people in the nation who itemize on their returns. According to the IRS, 42% in our district do so. This bill will hurt people who itemize and can no longer take medical deductions which include out of pocket costs, long term care premiums, nursing home care, and health insurance premiums which are going up because of Trump. Those with student loans can no longer deduct the interest and state and local taxes which average $4860. in our district can no longer be deducted with a cap on property taxes. The housing market will suffer because the mortgage interest deduction will no longer be attractive as more people opt for taking the increased standard deduction. Dr. Harris, you represent us-not Paul Ryan. This bill may help Ryan but hurts many of the people in our district.
