IN SUPPORT OF CAMBRIDGE
Leaps and bounds: This town has come leaps and bounds in the last 5 years. I’m proud to be a part of that, and I look forward to all we have to bring. We ain’t just a McDonalds on the way to OC anymore. Check it!
Up and coming: Cambridge is up and coming! It will pop and soon! I’ve lived here in the historic district for the past 10 years and watched it slowly grow.
Now there are lots of great restaurants, shops and culture, museums, a gorgeous art center and the Blackwater Refuge - thousands of acres of wildlife, biking and kayaking. It’s the best of all worlds, only a little over an hour from Ocean City, one and a half hours from Baltimore and DC, 45 minutes from Annapolis. What’s not to love?!
TAXES
Resentment: I just resent the fact that Congress believes the American people aren’t smart enough to realize they are not working for us. They’re working for big corporations, so when they get voted out of office they will still be able to reap the benefits of their so-called tax cut bill.
Corporations may create jobs, but they will be in the middle-class range, which will continue to support the permanent tax cuts congress voted for them and not the American people. So much for “Let’s Make America Great.”
Losing: This family of four, including a small-business owner and an elementary school teacher, will lose out terribly under this plan. Maybe I just need to work harder...and get my third part time job!
A crime: This tax bill is a crime. You do not support the middle-class people who need help. I am support of tax reform - but one that is vetted and that provides fairness for all. Large tax cuts for big business and the rich is a crime.
Higher taxes: Based on the new tax plan, the medical deductions that will be lost will cost us at least another $2,000 in taxes. Retired on a fixed income, there will be no trickle down results for us. Where are we to cut - quit paying our mortgage, health insurance, food? Just what do you recommend that we do in order to pay the increase in taxes?
Benefit: I think the plan will benefit most Americans. They should do away with all the deductions and increase the standard deduction.
