Temple B'nai Israel to be dedicated this weekend

EASTON - A full weekend of celebration and dedication will occur at Temple B’nai Israel, The Satell Center for Jewish Life on the Eastern Shore, in Easton, Maryland on June 8, 9 and 10.  United States Senators Benjamin Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, as well as Maryland State Comptroller Peter Franchot, will have major roles on different days.  Rabbi Peter E. Hyman is the Temple’s spiritual leader.  Political, civic and religious leaders from throughout the Eastern Shore will also attend.
The invitation-only dedication program will begin on Friday June 8th with the Shabbat Service from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, including light refreshments after the service.  The featured speaker will be Ed Satell, Founder of The Satell Family Foundation.
 
On Saturday, June 9th, the Comptroller of the State of Maryland, Peter Franchot, will participate in the evening Havdalah Ceremony from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. He will be available for interviews after the event.
 
And on Sunday June 10th, a Torah March from the old to the new temple will occur from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.  Then from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, Senators Cardin and Van Hollen will have speaking roles in the dedication of the Temple.  They will be available for interviews before 2:00 pm.
 
Temple B’nai Israel, The Satell Center for Jewish Life on the Eastern Shore, is located at 7199 Tristan Drive (the Easton Parkway) in Easton, Maryland.
