SALISBURY - Sylvia W. Layfield died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. She was born in Salisbury to Elsie Hastings Webster and Harry Webster. Her mother re-married when Sylvia was very young to Adolph Beye who raised her as a daughter. Most of her life was spent being a stay-at-home mother taking care of her two daughters. When her daughters were in school, she worked at Joyce's Beauty Shop for a number of years. She is survived by her husband, Charles Richard Layfield; daughters, Vicki L. Bozman and Terri L. Hussey; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James Webster; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Webster. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
