CAMBRIDGE - Stephen M. Midway III, 68, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 16, 1938, and was a son of the late Stephen M. Midway II and Martha Misterka Midway.
Mr. Midway attended school in Baltimore City. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Midway worked for the Maryland State Police for a few years, but most of his life was spent working in hospitals in Baltimore, Salisbury, Memorial Hospital at Easton and in Cambridge as a manager in the maintenance department. He was manager of the year at the Memorial Hospital at Easton in 2006.
Some of his hobbies were wood working, golfing and camping. He was a member of the Partners Golf Association and the Epic committee.
Mr. Midway is survived by his wife, Anita Midway of Cambridge; a son, Barry Midway of Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Darlene Roberts of Pennsylvania; a stepson, Joseph Unsworth Jr. of Cambridge; two stepdaughters, Katherine Grow of Baltimore and Donna Unsworth of Easton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Midway of Florida, a brother, Robert Midway of Texas; a sister, Mary Vane of Joppa, a sister, Martha Kite of Aberdeen and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Midway was preceded in death by a son, Mark Midway.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Dr. Brian Childs officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Center, 509 Idlewild Ave., Easton, MD 21601.
