HURLOCK — Shell Hurley of Brookview Hope Treasures recently donated funds to St. Andrew’s Church in hopes to raise awareness to the needs of locals in our North Dorchester Community. She encouraged others to help this and other local food providers that assist local citizens in need.
Saint Andrews Church, at 303 South Main Street, has been serving the community of the needy over the past decade. In partnership with the Maryland Food Bank, St. Andrew’s has offered assistance to local Maryland families in the North Dorchester County area for many years.
Using funds from church patrons and members, St. Andrews has provided a beacon of light provides food on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Recipients must be residents of Maryland to receive the weekly gifts of food and more.
The volunteers at St. Andrews assist as many as 150 households some weeks.
