CAMBRIDGE - This holiday season, Dorchester Center for the Arts will jump-start the spirit of gift giving with the new “Merry Market,” transforming the entire art gallery into a whimsical shopping experience.
This juried event will feature dozens of artists displaying a wide variety of hand-crafted creations. Second Saturday receptions will be held Nov. 12 and Dec. 10, from 5-7 p.m., with festive refreshments, live music and an opportunity to meet all the Merry Market artists.
Vendor applications are currently being accepted through Oct. 15. Apply online at dorchesterarts.org, or stop by 321 High St. in Cambridge.

Who can apply:
All artists welcome who create handcrafted items including, but not limited to jewelry, upcycled works, candles, small prints and paintings, ceramics, woodworks, fiber, glass, baskets. No buy and resell items permitted.
Acceptance notification:
All artists will be notified of their acceptance in October. Those who are not accepted for this year’s show will also be notified. All accepted applicants will receive a packet from DCA containing contract, special requests form, an inventory sheet and delivery/pick-up information. All forms must be fully completed.
Space customization:
DCA will provide each accepted artist a 4-foot space for their display area. Artists must bring any tables, tablecloths, display racks and signage that will make their displays unique. Basic space identification signage will be provided.
