CAMBRIDGE – Dorchester Center for the Arts is pleased to feature two exhibitions for July. “Yellowstone in Winter” fills The H. Theodore and Barbara S. Wilson Gallery as well as the Graham and Judith Slaughter Hall Gallery. In the Main Gallery, the Wednesday Morning Artists present “Community and Arts.”
The Yellowstone exhibit is the result of six avid amateur photographers – a financial planner, a bagpiper, a human services administrator, and three Ph.D. nutritionists – spending ten
days in Yellowstone National Park in February 2022, and having them share their six views. They hope the images in the exhibition capture the grandeur and wonder of this special place, as an encouragement to others to visit, or return to, Yellowstone.
Participants are Janet Kerr, Bill McDonnell, Mark Nelson, Joe Soares, Randy Welch, and Wayne Zussman.
Wednesday Morning Artists are independent artists diverse in medium, approach, background, point-of-view, and heritage. The Community and Arts project now on exhibition, focused on a specific location at a time, in Cambridge and Dorchester County, with each participating artist encouraged to create their own interpretation thus facilitating a collaboration that features a unity of goals without constraints on the artists.
Participants are Nancy Hoffman, Ned Egan, Karen Bailor, Peg McCormack, Terry White, Connie Wolfe, Tammy Vitale, Wendy Middleton Rue, Susan Lester, Sheila Egan, Holly Beckwith, and David Todd. The group meets every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at 900 Peachblossom Ave. in Cambridge.
Both exhibitions will be up through July 29. Gallery hours are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday noon to 8 p.m. Thank you to July gallery sponsor and corporate member Crosby and Associates.
