CAMBRIDGE - Chelsea Fitzhugh made the most of a snowy Sunday. She is seen enjoying the chilly weather on the steps to Spring Valley in Cambridge. Christ Episcopal Church is in the background.
The area was hit by Winter Storm Orlena, which moved up the coast, leaving the most significant snowfall on Delmarva in several years. The storm’s effects were felt along the I-95 corridor from North Carolina as far north as New England, snarling traffic, closing schools and offices.
Maximum amounts were found from central Pennsylvania into New Jersey, with 19 inches burying Bridgewater, N.J.
But in The Land of Pleasant Living, as the Delmarva Peninsula is sometimes called, the few inches of snow were just enough to give families some wintery fun, as some young children had their first chance to build snowmen and toss snowballs.
