MARDELA SPRINGS - Sharon L. Shockley, formerly of Mardela Springs, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Florida Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Born in Salisbury, she was raised in Mardela Springs by her loving adopted parents/grandparents, the late Hubert and Dorothy Hostetter. Following graduation from Mardela High School, she graduated from the Delmarva Beauty Academy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mardela Springs. She is survived by a daughter, Sonya Black of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Larry W Shockley, a daughter, Wanda L. Brixner; her biological mother, Anna Hostetter Dennis; and brothers John Dennis and Phillip Dennis. A graveside service was held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Mardela Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
