SALISBURY - Sharon A. Powell died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Jean Payne Shorter. He husband, William "Billy" Powell, died a year ago. She was a graduate of James M. Bennett High School Class of 1966, which was the first graduating class. She worked for Hallmark for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughter, April Powell; a son, Bryan Smullen; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
