CAMBRIDGE - Russell Lee Johnson, passed away at The Pines Genesis Health Care Easton, on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007.
Born July 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Emmer Travis of Hawkeye and Harlan Richardson of Seaford, Del. He was raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore R. Bishop Sr. of Cambridge.
He received his education in the Dorchester County School System. He worked in Dorchester County as a truck driver at one time. In his later years he became a recycling technician with his brother in-law, Barry Pinder.
Mr. Johnson is survived by a son, Charvin Wilson (Rochelle) and a granddaughter, Kashyra Wilson, all of Chestertown; a daughter, Patricia Cornish of Atlanta; two sisters, Shirley M. Townsend (George) of Dover, Del., Francine B. Woolford of Cambridge. He is also survived by family members, Theodore R. Bishop Jr. (Barbara) of Laurel Del., Gwendolyn B. Handy (Roscoe) of East New Market, Rose M. Bishop and Shirley D. Pinder (Barry), all of Cambridge and a number of niece, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick William Johnson, John L. Ball and Herman F. Bishop.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, at Zion Baptist Church with a viewing held two hours prior to the services. Elder Craig Mathis will officiate. Burial will follow in Waugh Chapel Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Henry Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge.
