Russell Cooper

SALISBURY - Russell Orlando Carroll Cooper, 88, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in Royal Oak in Wicomico County, he was the son of the late Fred C. and Lillian Hurley Cooper. After he graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1944, he served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He worked for Sunshine Laundry and later retired from the Maryland State Highway Administration with 30 years of service. He was a life member of VFW Post 194, Ducks Unlimited and the North Carolina Bear Association. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Marshall Cooper; daughter, Debra Jean Reddish; son, Wayne Russell Cooper; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment with military honors was held at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
