CAMBRIDGE — The Rotary Club of Cambridge recently celebrated its 2019 “Flags for Heroes” campaign. Members and friends of the Club installed 200 American flags on the berm by the Dorchester County Tourism office at Sailwinds Park on May 23 in recognition of Memorial Day.
This year, the Club decided to keep the Flags up an extended time. They remained in place to celebrate Flag Day.
Flags for Heroes is a fundraiser for the Club raising money for a variety of Veterans programs. Rotarian Ed Connelly chairs Flags for Heroes. In selecting recipients of the funds, the committee targets programs primarily helping local veterans.
