Six Dorchester County seniors were presented service awards by the Rotary Club of Cambridge at a luncheon earlier this year. North Dorchester High School’s Abigail Jarrell and Kyle Outten received the “Service Above Self Award.” They were introduced by assistant administrators Mark Pages and Renee Warfield. Phylicia Smith introduced Cambridge-South Dorchester recipients Hunter Rose and Katelyn Masden. Named for the Rotary motto, the award is awarded to two seniors from each of the two Dorchester high schools.

In addition, Gretchen Richardson, CSDHS, and Matthew Kimball, NDHS, each received the Rotary’s Spring Student of the Semester Award, given to a student who often goes unnoticed for the work they do in and out of school. Gretchen was introduced by Smith. Matthew was presented by Pages. In their introductions, the administrators gave background on the students and their future plans.

All recipients of the Rotary awards are based on recommendations from the administration and guidance department of their schools. They each received a crystal award engraved with the award and student name.
