POCOMOKE CITY - Rosemary Payne, 64, of Pocomoke City, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle against cancer. Born February 18, 1948 in Pocomoke City, she was a daughter of the late Walter Francis and Alice (Adkins) Hurley. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Pocomoke, she was active in the JYB Sunday School Class. Rosemary loved people and worked for 28 years in the Harris Hardware Store in Pocomoke City. Her hobbies included, reading, solving puzzles, computer games, sewing and needlework. Above all else, she loved her family and spending time together on family vacations and outings. She is survived by husband of 47 years, Ronnie Payne; two daughters, April Porter and her husband Chris and Joy Collins; four grandchildren, Jennifer Porter, Justin Porter, Shelby Collins, and Daniel Collins all of Pocomoke City; one brother, Carlton Hurley and one sister, Vivian Bradshaw, both of Crisfield; as well as her beloved Pomeranian, Kandi. Funeral service was 2 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, 204 Fourth St., Pocomoke City, Rev. Paul Elligson officiated. Family and friends gathered one hour prior to the service. Interment followed in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke City. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pocomoke Elementary School Relay for Life Team, c/o Jennifer Porter, 2041 Orchard Drive, Pocomoke City, MD 21851 or www.relayforlife.org.
