Rosalee Sampson, 79

CAMBRIDGE - Rosalee Sampson, 79, passed away, Monday, May 5, 2008 at Chesapeake Woods Nursing Center in Cambridge.

She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Dorchester County, the sixth of 15 children, born to the late Edward Jones and Mary Della Jones Singletary.

Mrs. Sampson was a member of Refuge Temple Church of God in Cambridge.

She retired from Coldwater Seafood Corp. after 25 years of service. She received her formal education in Dorchester County.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Sampson; a son, Milbert Jones Sr. (Westover); a daughter she raised as her own, Anitra Appleby (the Rev. Thomas Appleby), Springfield, Mo,, Sherise Sampson (Cambridge) and Jackie Jackson (Cambridge); four stepsons, Arthur Sampson Jr., Leo Molock (Ruth), all of Cambridge, Lance Sampson (Manassas, Va.), Dail Sampson (Roxanne), Vienna; three stepdaughters, Gail Sampson, Neta Foster (Robert) and Tammy Jackson, all of Cambridge; two brothers, Gilbert Jones (Bertina), Dover, Del. and Ide Singletary; a sister, the Rev. Anna Mae Dockins (Clifton), both of Salisbury; a niece devoted to her care, Constance Elliott (Freddie), Cambridge and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins St., Cambridge with the Rev. Cynthia Stanton, officiating. Burial will follow in Thompsontown Cemetery, Thompsontown,.
