WILLARDS - Rollie R. Palmer died in the company of family at home on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. Born in Whaleyville, his parents were the late Sylvestor and Mattie Palmer.
He was a member of the U.S. Army and became a skilled small-engine mechanic. He was a member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge, Salisbury American Legion, Salisbury Eagles and lifetime member of the Assateague Mobile Sports Fishermen Association in Worcester County.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie; his children, Rollie Palmer Jr., Robert Palmer, Denise Logan, Billy Jackson and April Jester; 10 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Marrowsic; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sally Shipley; and siblings, Virginia Taylor, Harry Palmer, Melvin Palmer, Ethel Gray, Alice Carey, Thomas Palmer and Isabelle Irvin.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Family will receive guests one-hour prior. Interment will take place immediately following at Pittsville Cemetery.
