SALISBURY - Robert Hall Hutchinson, of Salisbury, died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at his home. Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Emily Hutchinson, he graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1948 with a degree in chemistry. He retired after 31 years as a chemist from Armstrong World Industries, and then worked for 10 years for LaMotte Chemical Co., before moving to Salisbury. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. His community volunteerism included the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, St. Alban's Church in Salisbury and the Wicomico County Board of Appeals. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Katharine Hutchinson; sons Bill Hutchinson of Shippensburg, Pa., and Peter Hutchinson of Salisbury; a daughter, Judy Hutchinson of Moline, Ill.; as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hamilton Hutchinson, his sister, Elizabeth Hutchinson and an infant son, John Robert Hutchinson. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the church cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
