Robert F. Dombrowski

Dombrowski, 72 SALISBURY - Robert Francis Dombrowski, 72, of Salisbury, died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Francis and Helen Uszkowski Dombrowski. He grew up in Floral Park, N.Y., where he graduated from Bishop Laughlin High School and Hofstra University where he met his wife of 49 years, Beverly. In 1963 he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, beginning 26 years of military service. He obtained his Master's in Business from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and other citations. By the time he retired in 1989 as a Colonel. He then embarked on a second career as a member of the Accounting faculty at the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University, where he worked for 24 years. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Dombrowski; three sons, Michael R. Dombrowski of Salisbury, Air Force Lt. Col. James A. Dombrowski of Washington, D.C., and Andrew T. Dombrowski of Bethesda; two grandchildren; two brothers, Donald J. Dombrowski of Houston, Texas, and Thomas A. Dombrowski of San Diego, Calif. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
