CAMBRIDGE - Ricky Eugene Stevenson passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.
He was born April 14, 1954 in Greenville, N.C., son of the late Cleveland Earl and Mary Magdaline Stevenson.
Ricky attended schools in Perquimans County Public Schools. He moved to Maryland in 1978. Ricky's occupation was that of Marine Construction employed by Erik Straub.
He could be found spending many hours with his wife, grandchildren, family and friends enjoying the serenity of the ocean or trying to reel a "Big One." Fishing was his second love.
Mr. Stevenson was joined in marriage on March 21, 2003 to Druscillia Myrtle Green.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughters, Michelle King (David), Durham, N.C., Evelyn Stevenson (Edenton, N.C.) and Britteny Stevenson (Salisbury); five stepchildren; nine grandchildren; mother-in-law, Daisy N. Butler (Hurlock); a sister, Linda Carr (Phil), Cambridge; three brothers, Christopher (Brenda), Hamden, Conn., Samuel (Latania) and Raymond Stevenson (all of Cambridge); four sisters-in-law, Dorind Dockins (Henry), East New Market, Delilah Johnson (Cornell), Desiree Jones (all of Seaford, Del.), Deanna Boston (Tommy), Easton; a brother-in-law, Darcy Nichols (Claretha); two special aunts, Ethel Hardy (Greenville, N.C.) and Evelyn Wilkins (Kenneth), Preston and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Eugene Carter (Hertford, N.C.) and a brother, Cleveland Earl Stevenson Jr. (Cambridge).
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5170 Bethlehem Road, Preston. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Cambridge.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge.
