CHESAPEAKE CITY - Richard Floyd Geoghegan Jr., 59, died on Dec. 16, 2006

He was born on Feb. 5, 1947 in Baltimore City and grew up in Hampden and Reisterstown and was a longtime property owner at Rhodes Point, Smith Island.

He was the former owner of Triad Technologies, Inc. and Phoenix Imperative, Inc. He was a member of the Maryland Saltwater Fisherman"s Association, American Chemical Society. He was an avid fisherman and a certified scuba diver and a flight instructor. He served with the Coast Guard in Vietnam.

Surviving are his wife of 26 1/2 years, Janet (nee Keeney); son Richard Floyd Geoghegan, III of Chesapeake City; brother, Jack Geoghegan of Reisterstown; sisters Betty Sollenberger of Elkton and Nancy Geoghegan of Middlebury, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial was in Leister Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Association, in his name, 3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL 33619.
