CAMBRIDGE — At 6:32 p.m. on Tuesday, Dorchester Central dispatched Rescue Fire Company (RFC) units for an apartment fire at 113 Washington St., Apt. B in the Cambridge 1-1 Box Area. Chief Adam Pritchett arrived on location with smoke showing from side alpha and established command.

Engine 1-3 arrived and made quick work of a burning room and contents fire on the first floor of the house. Other crews assisted with search, overhaul and ventilation.

At 8:15 p.m., command placed the situation under control and released all units without incident. Chief Pritchett remained on location, with the Maryland State Fire Marshal and awaiting Red Cross volunteers.

Mutual aid was provided by the Cambridge Police Department, Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services, PM100 and 101 (Cambridge) and Talbot Station 30 from Trappe.
