Reservations still open for DCA Guest Artist event Saturday

The Dorchester Center for the Arts wants the community to know that it’s not too late to make reservations for this weekend’s Guest Artist Event. Now in its 8th year, Guest Artist helps to support DCA operations, and provides an enjoyable evening to celebrate the arts.  Lead sponsor of this year’s event is The 1880 Bank.

The gala begins at 6 p.m. this Saturday, and will include heavy hors d’oeurves, beer and wine cash bar, live music, live and silent auction. Music will be provided by Quintessence with band members Scott Davis, Brian Walden and Bob Kamman.

Artist teams presenting art work for the live auction are: Alan Brock — Crosby & Associates/Barb Zuehlke — Watercolor; Paul Clipper-Dorchester Banner/Dr. Graham Slaughter — Photography; Laura Heikes-Talbot Bank/Windy Karpavage — Fiber Arts; Nancy Snyder-Wednesday Morning Artists/Ann Geiger — Pottery; Brandon Hesson- Cambridge Main Street/Charles Ross — Mixed Media; and Janette Jones– DCA/Paul Winters — Fused Glass.

Tickets are $65 per person for DCA members; $75 per person for nonmembers. In addition to the live auction items, a variety of items also will be in the silent auction.

An Array Of Live and Silent Auction Items

The evening’s live and silent auction will give attendees ample opportunity to bid on unique gifts to include;

• Fused glass jewelry;                     • Watercolor paintings;

• Pottery;

• A 1-month gallery show for an artist in the DCA Front Studio;

• 3 months Art Studio Rent for May, June and July 2015 above The Shops at Magnolia Grove;

• An authentic Texas-Style Barbeque prepared at your home for up to 20 people (beverages not included);

• A private flying lesson;

• Mixed Media;

• Fiber Arts;

• Cambridge Eateries Gift Cards;

• A “Stock your Bar” basket;

• A Ceramic Workshop with one of the Guest Artist Professionals, Ann Geiger;

• A Week of Art Summer-Fun Camp for the young artist;

• Photography.
