SALISBURY - Raymond Luther Wampler died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at his home. Born in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Luther and Annie Wampler. After graduating from Sykesville High School in 1946, he joined the U.S. Army and served from 1951-1953. He worked his entire career at Thomas J. Lipton, until his retirement in February 1991. He was a member of VFW Post 194 and Faith Lutheran Church in Salisbury. He is survived by three children, Deborah Fairbank of Easton, C. Dean Wampler of Attleboro, Mass., and Dennis Wampler of Allen; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert B. Wampler; two sisters, Ruth Howdsen and Edna Harrison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edna Mae Wampler; a brother, Arthur Wampler; and a sister, Helen Fowler. A funeral service was held Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment was at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, Md. Arrangements are in the care of Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury.
