HURLOCK — Prospect Height’s residents and the Anchor Point Thrift Store of Cambridge, came together on Aug. 6, to host a neighborhood block party for the children in the community. It was organized by Cedrick Turner, Kim Barham, and Alan McRae, as a day to bring the community together in a positive way in love, unity and outreach community resources. The event had organizations present, such as Dri Dock Recovery Center, Dorchester Health Department, Hurlock Police Department, Cambridge Police Department, Anchor Point, Redd Hatters, Dj Swift (John McNeil), and a number of vendors in the community that volunteered with face painting, nails, popcorn and snowballs. There were many games, prizes and food for all to enjoy. A special thanks goes to Hurlock’s Mayor Joyce Spratt and John Avery of the Town of Hurlock, E&L Quick Freeze, Tri-City Baseball, E’s Hair Design, Dons & Diva Fashion, The Hurlock Drug Store, Jeff’s Service Center, Russell’s Barbershop and Professional Parties & Promotions of Hurlock.
