ELDORADO-BROOKVIEW – The fire company in this area of North Dorchester is quite a bit richer, after a substantial donation. During a membership meeting of Eldorado-Brookview Volunteer Fire Company Station 26 on Dec. 11, member Tom Pierzchalski Jr. presented a check for $35,456.20 to the station. Mr. Pierzchalski, owner of AM PM Marine of Pasadena, donated the proceeds of the sales of two boats from his business. These two boats were previously donated to the E-BVFC and needed repairs, a statement from the fire company said. Mr. Pierzchalski agreed to work on the boats and sell them to benefit the company. “The employees of AM PM Marine worked long hours and dedicated their time to this project,” the statement said. According to Mr. Pierzchalski, AM PM Marine put $17,000 worth of labor into these boats and donated that time to the fire company. “We would like to thank AM PM Marine and Tom Pierzchalski Jr. for this generous donation and for their continued support of the Eldorado-Brookview Volunteer Fire Company,” the statement said. “The proceeds will be used to help the company in purchasing and maintaining fire and rescue equipment to serve our community, county and the citizens of Maryland.” “Such a generous contribution from such nice people for a deserving fire company,” Therese Reid said in a comment online. Fires and a wreck The crew was in action later that day. They received a call for out-of-county assistance from Federalsburg, for a building fire at the Solo Cup Factory. Station 26 was on the scene with another Dorchester company, Station 6 of Hurlock. Then on Thursday at 5:39 p.m., Station 26 again headed out of Dorchester, this time just across the Nanticoke River to Sharptown in Wicomico County. The crew was alerted to respond to the area of San Domingo Road and Tower Hill Lane with Tanker 26 to assist Station 14 of Sharptown with a garage fire. On Friday, Station 26 was back in action at 6:31 a.m., when they and Dorchester Paramedic 200 were sent to the scene of a collision between a tractor-trailer and a car in the area of MD 392 and Church Home Road. The truck sustained damage to the right front corner, while the car was severely impacted at the right rear. Also at the scene were Hurlock VFC, Caroline County EMS, Maryland State Police and the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office. Those injured in the wreck were transported to a local hospital. “Thanks to all who responded and handled the scene,” Tracy Fairall said in a comment online.
