SALISBURY - Paul Edward Moore died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Hebron, he was the son of the late Dorothy Moore and Stanley Handy.
A 1959 graduate of the former Salisbury High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for six years, later receiving and honorable discharge.
He was employed for 33 years with the DuPont Co. in Seaford, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Luke U.M. Church in Hebron, where he served on the United Methodist Men, Men's Choir, Senior Choir and was a former Trustee.
His civic involvement included member of Unity Lodge No. 73, F&AM, P.H.A., King David Consistory No. 284, Abulahab Temple No. 206 Oasis of Salisbury; American Legion Post No. 269 of Sharptown and the Salisbury High School Alumni Association. He was a life member of the NAACP.
His survivors include his wife of 49 years, Vivian Moore of Delmar; three daughters; Melissa Ann Moore and Rodericka E. Hairston, all of Salisbury, and Paulita E. Moore of Delmar' a nephew whom he raised as his son, Odell B. Jones of Delmar; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, one brother, Roland Lee Moore of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at New Dimensions Ministries in Salisbury. Interment was in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
