Patrick Joseph Hannon of Salisbury, MD and Concord, NH passed peacefully Friday, January 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Patrick lived in Salisbury since 1960 and was proud to have lived and operated his civil engineering firm, P. J. Hannon and Associates, in his beloved shore community for many years.
He grew up in Concord, graduated from high school and then attended St. Anselm College for one year before joining the U. S. Air Force. Patrick served four years before returning to earn a Civil Engineering/ Urban Planning degree from the University of New Hampshire.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Claudia Hannon, and children; stepdaughter Alexis Backus Gatto (Joseph), granddaughter Madeleine Gatto, grandsons Julian and Eli Gatto; daughter Maureen Hannon-Hands (Stephen) and granddaughter Natalie Davis; and sons Sean Hannon (Carolyn), Daniel Hannon (Carla) and grandson Ryan and granddaughter Megan; Michael Hannon (Karen); Timothy Hannon (Amelia) and granddaughter Grace and grandsons Nicholas and Jack.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Margaret H. and Richard S. Hannon, brothers Daniel and Father Richard Hannon. Patrick was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury.
The family thanks friends, neighbors and members of the community for their kind support of Mr. Hannon over his many years. Patrick wanted his body donated to the Maryland State Anatomy Board. Close friends and family will celebrate his life in a private ceremony at a future date.
