SHILOH – A four-year journey ended with cheers and tears on Friday, when the North Dorchester High School volleyball team bid farewell to its seniors before their final home game.

The junior varsity girls had already won their set, to end their season 12-3. The varsity girls went on to beat visiting Wicomico for a regular-season record of 10-5.

Head Coach Carol Hubbard, Assistant Coach Terri Wright and JV Coach Bill Jackson have guided the program from its beginning four seasons ago. In that first year, the Lady Eagles won just one set – last year, they were in the regional championship match.

As Coach Hubbard introduced the players and their families, she fought off tears, remembering the path they have followed together. “These girls have had an amazing journey,” she told the fans who packed the gym.

The seniors who were honored were Kathryn Allen, Karlie Allen, Brooke Harding, Leah Smith, Savanna Nossick and Georgie Turner.
