CAMBRIDGE - Norma Lee Moore, 82, passed away at her home on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007.
She was born at Salem on July 22, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Hamilton and Eva McCollister Manning.
She had attended schools in Cambridge but graduated from Vienna High School in 1943. On Aug. 20, 1965, she was married to Lester R. Moore. Mr. Moore passed away on Nov. 18, 2005.
Mrs. Moore had worked at Sears in Cambridge as a sales clerk for 40 years. She had been a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge since 1958.
Mrs. Moore enjoyed caring for people, gardening, working in her flowers as well as spending time with her family. She had been in failing health for the past several weeks.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Jarvis of Bridgeville, Del.; one sister, Marjorie Harper of Cambridge and four nieces, Kay Adshead, Joann Nickerson, Nellie Foxwell and Jane Wright; six nephews, Woodrow Manning, Phillip Manning Jr., Billy Baumgartner, Jessie B. Hurley Jr., H. Eugene Harper and Wayne Marshall.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Manning Sr. and Eugene Manning and three sisters, Mildred Willey, Elsie Marshall and Louise Hurley and one niece, Marian Elzey.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Foxwell, Billy Baumgartner, H. Eugene Harper, Donald Elzey, Jessie B. Hurley Jr. and Wayne Marshall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Race St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
