CAMBRIDGE – The crew of Neck District Volunteer Fire Company has announced upcoming projects and a success for one of their members. Leaders of the company wrote in a recent statement that Charles Lewis has received his certification for Rescue Technician Vehicle Machinery Extrication. “Congratulations to our brother and thank you, Charles, for your dedication.” Casino Night “We will hold a casino night, including a Texas Hold ’em Tournament, and Casino Wheel with a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. There will be satellite, that is, pre-games, or qualifiers, on Friday evening, time to be determined, but about 6 p.m.,” the company announced. On Saturday morning, there will be more satellite games beginning at 9 a.m., with the official tournament beginning at 11 a.m. The cost will be: $100 buy in, $100 buy back in until 1 p.m. There will be food Friday evening and breakfast sandwiches in the early morning Saturday. More details will follow as they are determined. Become an EMT “This being a volunteer organization, it is becoming more difficult to respond with the few EMS providers we have,” a post online from the VFC said. “We have requested an EMT class to be held at our station right here in the Neck. Please consider becoming a responder. Help us help our community. We need volunteers. Please message us with any questions. If you are not currently a member and want to become one, please also message us. Thank you for considering us. The class will take place Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Neck District Volunteer Fire Co. at 954 Cook Point Road.
