HURLOCK — The NDHS Educational Specifications Steering Committee had its inaugural meeting at North Dorchester High School on Nov. 24. The Steering Committee’s purpose is to produce a document for submission to the state centered on three components: physical space as it relates to the instructional program; adjacencies and locations regarding academic programs; and the quality of the space including room shapes and proportions.
A diverse group of stakeholders comprise the committee, which includes community members, parents from each feeder school, law enforcement, teachers, administrators, state school construction personnel, and DCPS central office staff. Dorchester County Public Schools has hired the architectural firm of Hord, Coplan, and Macht to guide the committee through the Educational Specifications process.
