Flood Statement

National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC

449 AM EDT Thu May 15 2025

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in

Maryland...

Conococheague Creek at Fairview affecting Washington County.

For the Conococheague Creek...including Fairview...Minor flooding is

forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive

cars through flooded areas.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/washington or

www.weather.gov/baltimore.

The next statement will be issued this afternoon at 200 PM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Conococheague Creek at Fairview.

* WHEN...Until this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Several roads, including Wishard Road,

Kemps Mill Road, Independence Road, Cress Pond Road, and Walnut

Point Road, are flooded north of Williamsport.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 3:45 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.9 feet, or 0.8 feet

above flood stage.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

ending at 3:45 AM EDT Thursday was 11.0 feet.

- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

this morning and continue falling to 6.1 feet early Sunday

morning.

- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

10.9 feet on 05/21/1943.
