CAMBRIDGE - Maurice C. Tyler, 58, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2007, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
He was born in Cambridge on June 6, 1949, and was a son of the late Cecil Tyler and Laurena Creighton Collemer.
Mr. Tyler attended schools in Dorchester County and vocational school in Virginia. He worked for Allen Tyler for several years. In 1986 he managed Quicktrips and finally in 1993 he managed Hyser.
He enjoyed collecting coins, Elvis memorabilia, singing, boating and fishing.
Mr. Tyler always had a good sense of humor.
He is survived by a daughter, Tonya Faulkner and husband, Michael of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Emily and Evan; three sisters, Judith Trippett of Millersville, Linda Parks of St. Michaels and Jean McCommons of Joppa; several nieces, nephews and cousins; an uncle, Eugene Creighton, and aunt, Edith Asplen.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward Collemer, and two aunts, Lola Lucas and Lena Meredith.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, with the Rev. Kevin E. English officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Michael C. Trippett, Doward Jones, Keith Hubbard, Danny Mills, Donald Parks and Michael E. Trippett.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
