Mary V. Spear, 65

CAMBRIDGE - Mary V. Spear, 65, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital.

She was born on April 2, 1942 in St. Mary's County and was a daughter of the late William H. and Mary Tennison Goodwin.

Mrs. Spear graduated from Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County. On Oct. 27, 1974 she married Nathaniel Lee Spear who passed away on Sept. 1, 1983. She was working at Mallard Bay Care Center at the time of her passing. She enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by a brother, George Leroy Goodwin of St. Mary's County; a sister, Helen Goodwin of St. Mary's County; a sister, Hilda Mae Russell of Florida; a godson, James Willis Windsor of Cambridge, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Spear was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Edward A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Celebrant William Lawler officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
