Her greatest pride and joy was her children and family, which she spent a lifetime caring for and raising. She is survived by five of her six children, James "Jimmy" Washington Hooke Jr. of Baltimore, Jacqueline Tierney Cymek of Baltimore, Brian Emmett Hooke of Pittsville, Jean Hooke Sewell of Salisbury and Donavan Keith Hooke of Fruitland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years in 2012, James Washington Hooke Sr.; a son, Howard Norris Hooke, who passed this July; two brothers, James and Richard Norris; and a sister, Dorothy Foos. A funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at the Holloway Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., where she will rest with her late husband.
