CAMBRIDGE – Get out, support your team, share it with Cambridge Main Street, and you could earn yourself a pretty tasty reward. For Second Saturday this weekend, Cambridge Main Street wants you to show your team’s colors for a chance to win a Restaurant Prize Pack.

Come downtown anytime Saturday and get someone to take a picture of you in front of the Bushel Basket Christmas Tree on the corner of Race and Gay streets promoting your favorite team. Then, post that picture to Facebook using the hashtag #cambridgemd. Based on creativity and team spirit, Cambridge Main Street will pick a winner to receive free food and merchandise from downtown restaurants.

“There are so many great places to watch football games in Cambridge, it’s hard to choose, so we have decided to give the most outragious football fan in this town a chance to enjoy them all,” said Cambridge Main Street Executive Director Brandon Hesson. “It doesn’t matter who your team is, we want want to see you showing your team pride.”

The Restaurant Prize Pack will feature a snap-back hat from RAR Brewing, an appetizer from Cranium’s at the Beach, Cream of Crab soup from Canvasback, Taste of Cambridge award-winning crab dip from Leaky Pete’s Oyster and Wine Bar, and dessert from Jimmie and Sook’s.

The team featured in your photo doesn’t have to be in the playoffs, or even be an NFL team for that matter. The Baltimore Ravens kickoff this weekend’s NFL Playoff action at 4:30 Saturday, and each of the participating restaurants will be offering food and drink specials throughout the two games Saturday as well as Sunday. However, the NCAA Playoff National Championship game is Monday night, so college football fans are still invited to participate.

“Heck, I don’t care if you come out and show support for your local high school or youth team,” said Mr. Hesson. “It’s football season, and we’re looking to reward that crazy little place in every football fan that will stand in the middle of town and show off their team spirit.”

A complete listing of this weekend’s attractions downtown can be found at www.cambridgemainstreet.com, or on the Cambridge Main Street Facebook page.
