Louis Carey Sr.

FRUITLAND - Louis McGrath Carey Sr., 91, of Fruitland, died Fri., May 29, 2015. Born in Fruitland, he was the son of the late Norman W. & Hilda Carey. A U.S. Army veteran, he was an avid quail hunter and gardener. He also loved swimming at the beach in Ocean City. Memberships include: St. John's United Methodist Church, Fruitland Lions Club, Farm Bureau Discussion Group, and the Elks. He owned and operated N.W. Carey & Sons in Fruitland until his retirement. He is survived by a sister, Rachel McKenzie; daughter-in-law, Lynne J. Carey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Carey; son, Louis (L.M.) Carey Jr. and a brother, Richard Carey. A funeral service was held Wed., June 3, 2015, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Fruitland. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
