Lorenzo Anderson, 95 CAMBRIDGE - Lorenzo Anderson, departed this life Sunday, December 13, 2009, in Mallard Bay Care Center. He was 95. Blue, as we was affectionately called, was born May 15, 1914 in Norfolk, Va., eldest child of the late Malcolm and Maudina Anderson. After moving to Harlem, N.Y. with his family, he enlisted into the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Upon his discharge, he returned to Harlem, where he became the first and only Native American Indian to have a soda and seltzer distribution company named "Franks Soda and Seltzer." In the late 1950's, early 1960's he sold the business to a friend and moved to Cambridge with his dad. After moving to Cambridge, he started a few business ventures, a grocery store, a bar and a restaurant. His biggest business venture was "Blue's Taxi." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Anderson; and siblings, Charles Anderson, Dorothy Woodard and Bobby Anderson. He is survived by a son, Lorenzo Anderson Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Anderson; a sister-in-law, Louise Anderson; grandchildren, Shavon and Lorenzo Anderson; great-grandchildren, Je'Tiya Royster, Michael Royster and Nya Anderson; care providers, Sharon Banks and Vanessa Warner; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, 425 High St., Cambridge, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
