SALISBURY - Lorenzie Roosevelt Carr, 77, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in Pungoteague, he was the son of the late Renzie and Caroline Carr. Called "Buddy" by his family, he was educated in the Wicomico County Public Schools and he graduated from Salisbury High School in May of 1959. During the 1960s, he was a driver for Benjamin's Department Store in Salisbury. In 1971, he was employed by Western and Southern Life Insurance Company were he became the top salesman's on the Eastern Shore. He was a member of the Million Dollar Club and the Multi-Million Dollar Club, selling investment with Western and Southern Life. He retired in 1990 from United Insurance Co. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Leah E. Carr, of Salisbury; five children, Terry A. Carr, of Eden, Wayne G. Carr, of Bowie, Md., Antionette D. Carr, of Salisbury, Rabbi Marcus L. Carr, of Upper Marlboro, Md., and David M. Carr of Salisbury; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. A funeral service was held Thursday, August 25, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment was at Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
