EASTON - Loren Wallace Sard, 86, died on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at Talbot Hospice House, Easton.

Born April 18, 1921 in Bruceville, he was the son of the late Roland and Martha Talley Sard.

A lifelong carpenter and farmer, he farmed in the Chapel District area until moving to Wittman in 1948. In 1958 he moved to Three Bridge Branch Road where he remained until the time of his death.

His first wife, the former Irene Johnson, whom he married Oct. 27, 1941 died Nov. 28, 1996.

He attended Emanuel Wesleyan Church in Trappe.

Mr. Sard is survived by his wife, Edna Sard, whom he married Aug. 22, 1999; one daughter, Patricia Hanrahan of Cordova and three stepchildren, Mabel Wallach of Federalsburg, David Sard of Bruceville, and John Sard of Hurlock; a sister, Velma Sanger of Easton; five grandchildren, Linda Middleton and her husband, Doby, Tim Hanrahan and his wife, Dawn, Misty Richardson, Edna Jane Brown, and Buddy Wallack Jr.; and 36 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Vernon and Lloyd Sard; and three sisters, Madeline Mullikin, Mildred Phillips and Emily Schwaninger.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, where friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Easton.
